I dont trust my dentist anymore. any advice from experts?

im doing upper bridge (8 teeth in total 4+4).

first - my dentist promised me that permanent bridge will be done in 3 weeks.it took almost 5 weeks. Now she is saying there are some problems in lab so it will take additional 2-3 weeks.

Total 8 weeks for perm bridge!

Temporary bridge that she did to me looks so bad,and even color of that temporary is different than my natural teeth.

Second, when i asked her at the begining what material she will use for permanent she said porcelan.

Now she is saing it will be mix of metal, gold and porcelan.

I never heard for sucha ';mix'; before.

I already payed 8000$ for this work in advance but i feel that very bad.

If i knew it will take so long i would not choose her for sure.

Maybe she is doing right thing, maybe that is how it should be,but when i did my teeth and bridge 10y ago it took only 2 weeks to previous dentist to do it.

My big concern now is how will look my permanent bridge? will she screw also that?

any opinions here? thxI dont trust my dentist anymore. any advice from experts?
I'm a dentist.

So far, your doctor has done nothing wrong! Allow me to explain:

As far as the lab goes, they do screw-up from time to time, and it is completely out of our control. Once we send the case to the lab, it's up to them to complete the work in a timely fashion. We cannot make them work faster.

As for the temporary bridge, they more often than not look bad, shape-wise and color-wise.. To have a nice-looking temporary bridge, the doctor would likely have needed to order a custom-made temporary bridge from the lab, which, as you can guess, would cost you more money.

As for the material for the permanent bridge, there IS such a mix of gold and porcelain, and we use it very frequently. The gold alloy makes up the metal substructure of the bridge. There is porcelain covering the gold, so, no gold will be visible when you smile. Jesus Christ, I hope you don't use that ';well, I'VE never heard of it before'; method of evaluating treatment when it comes to addressing more serious medical conditions than missing teeth.I dont trust my dentist anymore. any advice from experts?
It's very unusual to have a solid porcelain bridge for four teeth. Perhaps you misunderstood her; most long bridges are a a metal substructure covered with tooth-colored porcelain, especially for back teeth (which need the extra substructure support).

Don't worry about the color of the temporary; they never match. Your bridge will be colored the same as your teeth.

And labs do get backed up. I've experienced that in the past. Ten years ago bridges weren't made as well (and take so long to do so) as they are now.
I agree with the above,i just got ripped off 10 grand for work i didnt need i too believe they are in it together and ther are all criminals....i hate dentists and i dont believe they are regulated at all or not hearly enough!!!
I got ripped off by my dentist for braces. I demanded to switch. But what is costed me to switch + the hassel = the same price.

These guys are criminals - they're all in it together
Most lab should only take 10 business days to complete your bridgework. I am not sure where you live, but 3-5 weeks is too long, especially the amount of money you have invested. Maybe the doctor has chosen an inadequate lab or less superior lab. the bridge you will be receiving sounds like a Porcelain Veneer crown which is a metal substructure with porcelain on top.

My advise is to look at the bridgework when you come in for cementation. IF you do not like it for any reason, metal showing, color is off, etc. Demand to have it sent back to have it redone. Do not accept anything less. If you feel your doctor can not meet your expectation for the bridge, refuse the bridge and demand your money back.
Well, I'm not an expert, but am currently going through a similar (if more minor) issue with my present dentist. I know what it's like to have dental work not live up to expectations. If I were you, I'd go with my gut feeling and get a second opinion, especially since your family members are echoing your own concerns about the appearance and fit of the temporary bridge the dentist has crafted so far. Maybe while pursuing that second opinion, you should call around to some other local dentists' offices and see what time estimate they would place on similar work being done.

As far as the metal/gold/porcelain vs. porcelain alone, I know that crowns for the front (visible) teeth are usually porcelain only (or have the option of being) for a better, more natural appearance, as they generally do not have as much stress or biting pressure placed on them as the back molars. I'm not sure about how bridge teeth are made vs. crowns, but there is a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown (PFM for short) that is used mostly for back teeth. I have heard that gold accommodates itself easier with somewhat less wear on adjacent teeth than PFM; but a dental professional would be more knowledgeable and equipped to advise you on that.

Do you trust your feelings/instincts? Need Advice!?

Will you trust your instincts??I need a sensible advice...?

Assuming that you and someone you consider your significant other haven't been talking in almost a week now and you have no clue whether it is over or not, after having an emotional crisis which entails a lot of external circumstances that is happening especially on the part of the guy (amputation in 2wks time) and his emotional uncertainties, no matter how you try to convince yourself to move on, you can't because you feel it that it might not be over yet, would you trust your instincts?

I tried to wake up and try to find something that would make me feel better and forget about how wonderful our relationship was, but I just couldn't.. I feel so bad having this heavy feelings in my heart... Wondering, blaming myself, being lonely altogether. This is consuming me and all I do is pray.

Should I trust my instinct to keep holding on to him?

I do love him and he knows that I am not asking anything in return but the pleasure of his company and the laughter and good times we always have whenever we are together. He showed me how much he appreciated what I do for him in lots of simple ways and there wasn't a day that I doubted his intentions.Do you trust your feelings/instincts? Need Advice!?
He's having a double amputation soon? His legs? He's definitely undergoing some severe depression and a bit of an identity crisis over the upcoming amputation. When someone's depressed they will withdrawal even from the people they love and care about. It's only been a week that he's stopped talking with you. In the life of a long term relationship that's nothing.

Split from him only if he's unable to meet any of your needs. Are you wanting kids? Will he be able to provide that? Are you young and you feel that his upcoming amputation will make you his life long caregiver if you stay? Do you think you'll develop a resentment towards him for not being able to do all that you want to do together?

Those are legitimate questions that can be a deal breaker for this relationship, no matter how much you still love and care for him. Be honest with yourself. Even if it means you must be the 'bad' guy and end the relationship.

Trust me, if you stick to the relationship and harbor doubts and resentment he will pick up on it. Neither one of you will enjoy yourselves and in a few years time the two of you can grow bitter.

That said, if you can see yourself with him after his surgeries give the relationship another month and see how you feel then before deciding to end it.

Good luck.

I cant trust my bf fully. please advice me what to do?

Hello.

I live in London and my bf lives in Berlin. This is a very unusual relationship as we can see each-other only once in a month max. but we still decided to go for it. I think he is kind of a person who cant talk about his feelings much or he tries to be somebody he is not at times which makes me distrust him. He is hanging around with his best friend who is a little strange to me. When he introduced her to me, she brought his ex with herself. and he tells me he is kind of forced to see his ex all the time bcs his best friend hags out with her much. his ex does have a bf, but yet it made me feel so unsecure about things. the last two weeks ive been waiting for a text from him or at least anything to know about what he is doing, but he dissapears and then tells me he had a great weekend. yesterday apparently all his best friends including his ex slept in his flat. :-( and all my day was spoiled bcs of it

Generally I never had any proper relationship in my 21 yr old life.I cant trust my bf fully. please advice me what to do?
I think things will work out. I wish the best for both of you.

I've been dating this
Don't let him pressure you into doing anything that you don't want to do, or anything that you're not comfortable. You don't need any negative influences. If he really loves you he'll wait for you, for when you are ready, and he'll be understanding and not putting you down by comparing you with his ex.Help me, i have a ton of relationship problems and need advice on sex, love, trust etc! I've been dating this
Okay! :) Just remember to be yourself, and if he doesn't love and respect you and your decisions, he's not healthy for you. You would deserve so much better than that!

I love this guy but we have some trust issues...HELP!! i need advice?

If you love the guy then you'll work on rebuilding those trust issues, because face it a relationship without trust is like building a house with no solid foundation and otherwise destined for doom. It just sucks that trust takes so long to build sometimes and so easy to ruin. I guess it all depends on what you're having trouble trusting him about.I love this guy but we have some trust issues...HELP!! i need advice?
have them tooI love this guy but we have some trust issues...HELP!! i need advice?
without trust you have nothing. If you dont have trust now, you never will. Keepn it real.
just keep one thing in mind.....life is at its weakest when there are more doubts than trust.....but life is at its strongest when u learn to trust inspite of the doubts.

  • Trust him? Any words of advice plz.....?

I know it wasn't good to do, but I checked my boyfriend's emails. I saw he had every single email that I have sent him, but on the deleted folder, I saw a lot of old emails dating to early 2007. Then, I found these 5 emails from a girl in which he also replied back, the year was supposdely 2008, and by that time we had barely started dating. I am so confused, and I don't know what to think. I talked to him straight about it, and he said that those emails were from the time before we started dating, but that sometimes the dates and times are wrong. Honestly, it doesn't stop bothering me thinking about it. He has been a wonderful boyfriend, and he had never given me any reasons to doubt about him. I mean, he always calls me, we go out every time we can, our families knows us each other, he has never acted weird with phone calls or messages or anything, and he said that if he had something to hide he wouldnt have given me the password. Everything is so formal that he has said he wants to marry after college. I am so confused! Any words of advice??Trust him? Any words of advice plz.....?
Well if he is serious about u and u really trust him then don't sweat it. But if the e-mail said something like he was dating this other girl, but he is not dating her now, then just explain to him that there is no reason to lie to u. Hope that helpsTrust him? Any words of advice plz.....?
I think he sounds pretty good, but just a quick point: if he is really into you, like married into you, he would have deleted those e-mail of past girls. That's what my boyfriend did. If he is focused solely on you, he would probably have deleted them. Just a pointer.
Yeah, sounds like he is being honest but just in case, no sex until AFTER you are married to be on the safe side.
OK you found e-mails for a year ago, are you serious, I think you are tired of being with him and you are looking for reasons to break up with him and if this is all you got you need to keep digging cuz this is crap that was from a long time ago and it more then likely did happen before you, does he know all your past NO so get over his little long time love notes and move on if you are mad for that then I wonder what you did that your looking for some fault in him.. this sounds a lil fishhhy.
I think you should trust him, as you said these emails were from when you were barley dating.

I think you should worry about him trusting you, what the hell were you doing checking his emails? If my girlfriend did that i know i wouldn't trust her, this is no because im cheating on her, im completely faithfull to her but emails are private, noone has the right to go through other peoples email.
    WHAT ARE YOU CONFUSED ABOUT???????

    1) Those emails were either prior or just after you bagan dating.

    2) There's no way to change the dates, I don't know what you're thinking about this%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

    3) He's a great bf.

    4) YOU SOUND LIKE THE PROBLEM!!!!!! you go through his emails, you confront him over very old emails that don't mean anything, and you seem confused over something.
If the most recent were that long ago, then just forget them. If there were some in the last month or so, then you could worry.
He sounds pretty believable. I wouldn't worry about it.
don't worry girl, maybe your just trying to find something to doubt him, but he sounds like mr. perfect. i do not think at all he cheated on you. i would believe him. have more faith in your man :)
