Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?

Recently, I've been curious about hair loss, for a couple of years I've had a very tiny recession but still have a full head of hair throughout. I went to see this hair restoration doctor in NYC, well-known in the field and provided free consultation but I felt rushed through it, he put some device called the densitometer on me, a device that none of the dermatologists or other hair specialists knew about and said that I exhibited very early signs of genetic hair loss.I told him my father started losing hair and thinning at 46 (56 now) so he immediately prescribed Propecia, he rushed me through the whole consultation and I didnt really get my questions answered well (a lot of I dunno). The whole experience made me unsure whether if I should trust him and spend the $69/mo on Propecia for life if right now I have a full head of hair.I saw a derm and a trichologist and he thought it's not serious at the moment but if i start to exhibit signs then take it or take it to protect it.Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?
It doesn't matter when your father started to bald. You get the hair loss gene from your mother side (her brother's), not your own father. Once you know that, it sort of puts the rest of it into perspective doesn't it?Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?
Hi There,

It's good of you to hesitate. In short, I suggest consulting another hair loss expert. It doesn't sound like you need a hair restoration procedure. But if you are losing your hair and want to prevent noticible baldness, then Propecia is your best bet.

I had a hair restoration procedure done back in July and am very happy with the results. Mine was a Bosley hair transplantation. The cost of a hair transplantation varies from surgeon -to-surgeon and the severity of the patients hair loss. That said, you can expect to spend $5,000 - $15,000. Since receiving the procedure I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com. The blog details the results of my Bosley hair transplantation and I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and the other methods used to correct it.

Since my results have sort of topped off I have invited my friend Torrance to blog about his procedure. He had is done about 90 days ago is already beginning to see results.

I encourage you to check out BattleAgainstBald.com, as I'm sure the information there can answer a lot, if not all of your questions.

Best of luck to you in your battle against bald...
