What is the meaning of this?';Never trust the advice of a man in difficulties';?

please ans. asapWhat is the meaning of this?';Never trust the advice of a man in difficulties';?
It's a kind of tongue-in-cheek remark that if the guy can't manage his own life, he's probably a bad person to ask for advice about yours - it's an unkind, smartaass thing to say, but there may be a grain of truth in it tooWhat is the meaning of this?';Never trust the advice of a man in difficulties';?
it means that the advice coming from some one in trouble is probably not very good. If he was so smart, why did he get himself in a difficult position.

Oh yeah his advice might be slanted th help him get out of trouble at your expense.

I think it means that it might be negative since he is in a bad situation he might have another view of things in a more negative way. So his advice might not be the best for you.
If he has such great advice he would not be having difficulties.
