Who do you trust to give you the best advice on buying an expensive TV?

Do you read online reviews, ask your friends, read online reviews (from editorial team or user reviews), go to the brand's web site. There are so many sources of information, it's hard to know where to go for the right answer!Who do you trust to give you the best advice on buying an expensive TV?
Find somebody who's already got one and ask their opinion and why they bought the one they've got.Who do you trust to give you the best advice on buying an expensive TV?
im not sure what kind of tv u are looking for but i do know not to buy a plasma tv unless u want to keep paying to have the plasma refilled every 2 years and the cheapest i found was 200$ good luck i hope this helps
I'd go to an internet site like Kelkoo, and read the reviews. They are from people who've already bought one, and are either raving about it or warning others, and it's easy to get a general picture of what to go for %26amp; what to avoid.
Online reviews, compare prices and friends
Which magazine. Consumer rights champion - you should get an honest response from them!
i use either the gadget show website or usually http://www.gadget-detective.moonfruit.co鈥?/a>
I always use multiple online reviews to compare a shortlist of three or so items. User reviews are often better than magazine reviews as they come from someone who has lived with the telly for a while. eBuyer is a great site to see how well user reviews can work.

Once I have a shortlist wherever possible I like to see the telly for myself so I find who stocks it and go there. Nothing but nothing can compare to seeing it for yourself. Once you have picked the one for you then you compare prices from web retailers to the high street shops and whoever comes out best get the plastic out and away you go.

Never rely on sales assistants as they always have a vested interest in selling you things.
consult several shops and make your decision
';which'; reports are independant of any manufacturer so tend to be the best source of info
Depends, what do you call expensive? Don't trust Consumerreports.org....not only is their information misleading, but each time I have referred to it, it led me down a path of poor advice and bad purchases. Never trust sales people....they know nothing except ';Sure, it is a great tv....buy it now so I can get the commission.'; Do the research starting with Google....plenty of forums out there on TVs. Never trust the brand's website...again, they create it to sell their product regardless if it is shight or not.
i visit repair shops, once i went to one and he had about 30 tvs he said they are all made in 2 factories and all brands had failed, look at the resolution and screen size but most importantly look how long the warranty or guarantee is for and who pays freight
There is no best advice when it comes to consumors. If your heart is set on a ';Pioneer'; stereo. You're going after that Pioneer. Now-a-days, you get what you pay for. I'd much rather spend 300.00 for a dvd recorder than the one on sale for under 100.00
Chuck Norris. He always knows best.
I use Which? or my hubbie as he knows everything about TV's
I always check the reviews on WHICH website
I would only trust speaking to someone that already has the brand you want to buy...Hands on experience with pros and cons...There are too many sharks out there that are in it only for the quick sale...Ask your neighbours even......good luck
Pick the TV you really want then go to http://www.johnlewis.com/Audio+and+TV/Ar鈥?/a> You get a FREE 5 year guarantee and free delivery. The store will price match if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. (not sure about Internet stores).
Take the advice from the sales assistant, then go to another shop and ask the same question there. Compare the answers given. If the answers tally, it's a good telly.
I use which? when buying most things, or Cnet. They're both really good resources. :]

if you can afford an expensive tv, you must have few quid if it brakes buy another!
